Matt Debole's 8:50.16 3200 -- All-time best by a North Carolina prep runner! -- Fastest 3200 in 25 years

Debole's time was good for 5th place. The previous best 3200 by a NC prep runner was 8:59.16 (converted) by Greensboro Grimsley's Dan Morton, who ran 9:02.31 for 2-miles (3218m) in winning the 1978 NCHSAA championship.

Sophomore J-Mee Samuels ...also from Mt Tabor ...placed second in 200 (21.85; -1.0 wind), third in 100 (10.49; 1.2 wind)
The 10.49 now leads 2003's state honor roll.

In another 3200 race, North Forsyth's Eric Mack was 6th (9:15.22) -- now 19th on all-time NC 3200 list, with Mt Tabor sophomore, Ryan Curran 14th (9:22.05).

North Forsyth's Clay Ragan sped 1:55.40 for 11th in the 800 -- best by a North Carolina runner this year.
