NCPrepTrack.com mentioned earlier that current Charlotte Myers Park HS senior Mary Bonner Dalton placed 4th in the Junior Women's race (6K) at the National Cross Country Championships (USATF) 1/20 in Mechanicsville, Virginia.
Overlooked was that Winston-Salem RJ Reynolds HS grad/UNC senior John Tatter placed 15th in the Senior Men's race (10K) in 30:12.7.

Also, U. of South Carolina Freshman JaMeesia Ford (Fayetteville Jack Britt HS) won the 400 (51.60) at the Collegiate Showdown 1/20 in Brighton, Massachusetts.

Tamara Clark (High Point Central HS)/Alabama), now running for adidas, won the Invitational 60 (7.21), and 200 (22.71) at the Corky Classic 1/20 in Lubbock, Texas.

Former Chapel Hill HS/App State runner Tristin Van Ord placed 17th today in the US Olympic Marathon trials in Orlando. Her time was 2:30:36.

Former Pfafftown Reagan HS ('12) star Craig Engels placed 3rd (3:54.03) in the Mile Saturday at the John Thomas Terrier Classic in Boston.
Greensboro Page HS/NC State grad Ian Shanklin was 4th in the 3000 (7:41.68).
Carmen Alder Southern Pines Pinecrest HS/BYU was 6th in the Mile (4:34.37).

At the Bob Pollock Invitational at Clemson last weekend Cameron Rose (Harrisburg Hickory Ridge HS/Clemson) won the 200 in 20.76.
Keon Howe (Charlotte Mallard Creek HS/Charlotte) won the PV (18-0.5).
Riley Felts (Weddington HS/Charlotte) won the Women's Vault (14-0.25).

At the Razorback Invitational in Fayetteville, Arkansas:
Jameesia Ford (Fayetteville Jack Britt HS/South Carolina) ran a 50.61 anchor to take her 4x400 to 2nd place (3:27.09 #7 NCAA school All-Time).
Sanu Jallow (West Meckenburg HS/Arkansas) had a 51.86 anchor to lead Arkansas to 1st (3:25.59 #4 NCAA school All-Time).

Freshman Jameesia Ford of South Carolina won the 300 Saturday at the Gamecock Opener in Columbia, SC. Ford, who ran at Jack Britt HS in Fayetteville, had a time of 36.00, which ranks her #10 on the All-Time US List and #5 on the All-Time NCAA List.
Ford later ran a 51.81 anchor on South Carolina's winning 4x400 (3:31.27).
At the Virginia Tech Invitational in Blacksburg, Scott Houston won the Pole Vault with a clearance of 18-6.5 (5.65m). Houston graduated from Northwest Guilford HS in 2008, with a high school best of 16-10 (indoors), and a total of four NCHSAA championships.
At the same meet Charlotte senior Riley Felts won the Women's Vault with a School Record of 14-6 (4.42). Felts graduated from Weddington HS in 2018 with a best of 12-9. Va. Tech Inv. story/results - Charlotte49ers.com

Friday (1/12), 18-year-old Arkansas Freshman Shawnti Jackson opened her season with a 400m win at the Arkansas Invitational in Fayetteville, AR.
The world U20 100m bronze medallist claimed a clear victory in a PB of 52.10.

Three former North Carolina high school track stars are included in Track & Field News' 2023 World Rankings (with the Top-10 chosen for each event).
Cravont Charleston (Charlotte Mallard Creek HS/NC State) was #9 in the 100-meters.
Anna Cockrell (Charlotte Providence Day School/Univ. of Southern California) was #6 in the 400m-Hurdles.
Keni Harrison (Clayton HS/Clemson/Kentucky) was #2 in the 100m-Hurdles
In the 2023 Top-10 U.S. Rankings, Charleston was #4 (100), Cockrell #2 (400H) and Harrison #1 (100H).
Shawnti Jackson (Raleigh Wakefield HS/S. Granville HS/Arkansas) was #8 in the 100 and #10 in the 200.
Tamara Clark (High Point Central HS)/Alabama) #6 in the 100 and #7 in the 200.
Veronica Fraley (Raleigh Wakefield HS/Clemson/Vanderbilt) was #4 in the Discus.
Elly Henes (Cary Green Hope HS/NC State) was #4 in the 10,000m and #5 in the 5000m.
