1997 4-A Boys Race: -- Wilkins and Baker With 600m Left
It's 600-meters to go for the State Championship coming off the back loop and onto the backstretch around the lake. Bradsher Wilkins has a small gap on Josh Baker as both juniors have pulled away from the rest of this year's excellent field. Wilkins held on to win by 2.9 seconds. Sophomore Ricky Brookshire of Watauga finished 3rd, five seconds behind Baker. Fans are already looking forward to the 1998 race as 4 of the top 6 return. |
