Bjorklund is quoted on page 30 of Tom Jordan's book "Pre!" as saying: "It was a beastly hilly course... We went through the mile in 4:24. There was still a group at 3-miles, so I took off and just started running as hard as I could. At 4 miles, I started to hurt pretty bad. Pre started to chip at me a little bit. At the top of a big hill, he sneaked away and got about 30 yards. I closed and I closed, but couldn't catch him."
