1997 Foot Locker South Regional: 8th & 9th-Place Finishers

The final qualifier for the Nationals, placing 8th in 15:30.1 was junior Andrew MacLeod (#1715) of Oakton HS in Herndon, Virginia. Just missing qualifying was sophomore Ricky Brookshire (#795) of Watauga HS in Boone, North Carolina. Brookshire ran 15:31.5 to finish 9th. His Watauga HS teammate, Joe Lion ran 15:27.0 to advance to Orlando.
