1997 Foot Locker South Regional: Liz Awtrey, Melissa Gulli

Liz Awtrey (left) of Robinson HS in Burke, Virginia and Melissa Gulli of Klein HS in Spring, Texas approach the top of the grueling hill on the Charlotte Regional course. Gulli went on to finish third in 17:43.4 with Awtrey fourth in 17:45.8. Gulli is a senior and Awtrey a junior. Awtrey placed 17th in the National FootLocker Meet her sophomore year.
