Another snapshot of the 20-year-old Prefontaine during
his post-race interview with the media.

As a high school senior Pre had run 8:41.5 for the 2-mile (3218m),
which shattered the National High School record by nearly 7 seconds.
That same year he ran the mile (1609m) in 4:06.0.
The only high school miler faster that year (1969) was Garry Bjorklund, with a 4:05.1.
