Runners race along the Yadkin River, which separates Forsyth and Davie counties.

Junior Matt Orr (North Henderson) placed 4th to
lead his team to the 2-A championship.

Jonathon Merritt, a Surry Central junior,
finished 2nd in the 1-A race.
Surry Central swept the top four places.

In the girls 1-A race #161 Brittany Chovan (Hendersonville)
placed 13th, helping her team to the team title. #158 is
Erica Walker of Hayesville.

The announcer -- with the help of two spotters -- calls the action from
the announcer's tower as runners pass by twice on each lap. The
tower is near the start and finish areas.
