Atkins High School won the All-Forsyth meet for the 3rd year in a row.

Four meet records were set, but times were disappointing on the slow track, according to a newspaper article written by Journal reporter Mary Garber.

One of the new records was in a new event, the 4x110-yard Relay, won by Atkins in 45.6

Atkins lowered their 1:31.5 4x220y record, set in '69, to 1:31.1.

East bettered by almost 3 seconds the Sprint Medley record they had set the previous year with a 3:45.6.

1971 was the second year for the 2-mile, with Reynolds' Bob Crump setting a new record of 10:08.7.

The meet was sponsored by the North Forsyth HS Key Club. Members assisted as meet officials.
