Saturday, Aug. 25, 2018 ... 9th Annual Early Bird Invitational (Wendell Park, Wendell, NC)
The race for the brownies is back!
North Carolina's original Early Bird Cross Country Invitational is on for the 9th year in a row and set for Saturday, August 25th. The basics are 4 races-- 2 championship (men and women) and 2 open (same). Races will be run at Wendell Park on one of the best cross country courses you will find. The cost is still only $30 a race or $100 for all 4 races. It's always a great race and tons of fun for the runners. We hope to see everyone there!
7:00 - Course is open.   7:30 - Begin Check-in.   8:40 - Coaches meeting at the starting line; course closes.   9:00 - Men's Championship.   9:45 - Women's Championship.   10:30 - Men's Open.   11:15 - Women's Open.   12:15 - Awards ceremony.

Saturday - December 8, 2018 ... 2018 Cannon School College Distance Summit (Cannon School, Concord, NC)
This meet is designed for HS runners who are interested in running a college distance race on the track. Could be a good opportunity for those runners interested in running at the collegiate level to get a time at a college race distance to have on their resume when talking to college coaches. Also an opportunity to run on Cannon's brand new resurfaced track!
Events: 1500m, 3000m, 5000m and we will also offer a 4 x 1600m relay.
Location: 5801 Poplar Tent Rd., Concord, NC 28027
Cost: $5 per athlete, per event. (payable when athlete picks up hip numbers on day of meet)
*Meet will be FAT timed.
*Registration will be done through www.athletic.net. Entry window is 11/1/18 (8:00 am) - 12/6/18 (8:00 pm).
*Coaches should register their athletes and provide the following seed times, so that we can offer the most competitive races possible.
  [1500m (1600m seed), 3000m (3200m seed), 5000m (XC 5K seed) and 4 x 1600m Relay (combined 1600m seeds)]

National Scholastic Athletics Federation Schedule: Major Meets

Saturday - March 9, 2019 ... The Ravens Relays (Rocky River HS, Mint Hill, NC)
-Rocky River HS will serve as host for what should be the premier season opening relay invitational in the region. *FAT Timing. *Coaches/Officials Hospitality.
-In The Raven Relays, the field events are "team relays". In order to participate in the field events each school must enter 3 athletes and the best individual marks from each participant will be added together for a team mark. If you do not have three athletes in a field event, you may not enter a team in the event.
-Event Winners receive a Raven Relays Champion Shirt.
-Team awards will be given to the overall Ravens Relays champion and runner-up schools in each division (boys/girls).
-Entry Fee is only $75 for single gender/$120 for schools bringing boys and girls squads.
-Each school participating should send in entries by 9:00pm on Friday, March 1st.
-We will have a Coaches Meeting in the north end zone (adjacent to the jump pits) at 9 a.m on Saturday morning
-Field events will start promptly at 9:30. We will be running an open pit in the long and triple jumps and the shot and discus. Athletes must check in at their events and will have until the pits close to complete their 3 attempts. Pits will close at 11:00 a.m. -The high jump may be the only field event continuing once running events begin.
SCHEDULE
9:00- Coaches Meeting (North End Zone)
9:30-Field Events
High Jump (girls first- Opening height 4'4" Boys opening height 5'6")
We will be running an open pit in the long jump, triple jump, shot put and discus.
Athletes check in at their event and will have until the pits close to complete their 3 attempts.
Pits will close at 11:00. There will be no more horizontal jumps or throws after that time.
High jump is the only field event which may still continue after 11:00 a.m.
